Certification Training Program
in Japanese Psychology
Schedule: July 24 - August 1, 2010
Location: The ToDo Institute (near Middlebury, Vermont)
This residential program, usually nine days long, is the core of our certification process and is designed to help participants develop basic skills in the application of principles and methods of Morita & Naikan therapies. The program includes daily morning seminars and individual sessions with a staff member. There is an emphasis on exercises which are carried out daily and discussed in individual and group sessions. Topics covered include an introduction to Morita and Naikan methods, self-discipline, the mechanics and use of attention, establishing purpose and setting goals, and the acceptance of unpleasant feeling states.
Thank you for making an intense certification training program such a joyful learning experience. The week after the training, I led a short introduction to Naikan and because of your training, I was able to share on the spot a practice that helped a woman proceed with restoring relations in her family. Thank you for making a certification program that guides us on how to share Naikan and Morita techniques in ways that others can use to benefit their lives.

“Thanks for an amazing ten days. I found it to be way beyond the therapy, meditation retreats, and various New Age techniques I’ve tried. You gave us the experience of a new way of being in the world, focusing attention, and setting priorities.”
Duncan Atchison, CA

Our certification program is comprehensive, in-depth, challenging and highly personalized. The certification process involves Distance Learning Modules and a 60 day supervised follow-up to the summer Residential Training. We’ve expanded our faculty so each participant benefits from the different backgrounds and experience of our teachers. There is now a personal development track for those who are not interested in certification with a lower cost and reduced time requirement. For those interested in certification, many of our credit-eligible courses will offer CEU’s for professionals. If you’ve taken our courses in the past, you may already have earned credit towards certification. As a non-profit organization, our goal is not to make money, but to pass on these valuable methods and tools to help you meet your personal challenges while contributing, in your own way, to a better community and world.
